Great Taste Award wins for Daresbury Dairy ice cream 2025

We are absolutely delighted that we have been awarded more Great Taste Awards wins in 2025 for Daresbury Dairy ice cream. This is the third consecutive year we have gained awards.

This year it was our pistachio ice cream and our strawberry ice cream which were both awarded 1 star.

We make our strawberry ice cream using a homemade puree featuring real strawberries and of course milk from the cows here on the farm. The judges commented the ice cream was ‘creamy and the strawberry ripples give great texture and flavour. The fruitiness from the strawberries tastes wonderfully natural. A pleasing ice cream’. They also commented that it is well balanced between dairy and fruit on the palate.

Our pistachio ice cream, which is again made with milk from the cows here on the farm, was also awarded 1 star. The judges commented that this ‘pistachio ice cream has a pale colour and smooth, silky texture. There are some very faint notes of pistachio on the nose, but on the palate the ice cream gives a pleasing toasted pistachio flavour’. Judges also really liked the elegant simplicity of this product that really allowed the flavour of the nuts to shine, saying that it feels like a classy, grown-up product. ‘The clean finish and well-balanced sweetness add to the experience’.

Previous Great Taste award wins

This success builds upon that of previous years. In 2024 there were more Great Taste award wins for Daresbury Dairy ice cream. Our stem ginger ice cream was awarded a prestigious 2 star. Our Daresbury Dairy plain and raspberry ripple ice creams both picked up a 1 star. In 2023 it was our chocolate ice cream which gained a 1 star. We have also won a number of awards with the Ice Cream Alliance as part of their National Ice Cream Competition. In 2020 we won a Bronze Medal with our salted caramel ice cream. In 2024 we also picked up a diploma for our strawberry ice cream.
